Valentine’s Day is observed around the world as a day to celebrate unconditional love and the heartfelt relationship you have with your significant other, or loved ones. I enjoy celebrating this day, mainly because I love celebrating any holiday. But.. On Sunday, August 7th, my boyfriend and I celebrated our 7 year anniversary. Yes, I know… A long time. We’ve been together since our Junior year of high school.
We decided to make it special and venture into New York City for the day. We ate brunch in the Meatpacking District at Dos Caminos; a Mexican restaurant. It was superb; the meal and the service. They had the best guacamole I’ve ever had by a long shot.
We then moseyed on over to Le Bain at The Standard. This place was upscale and had a chill vibe. They even had a jacuzzi on the top floor. We ordered a few drinks and relaxed on their rooftop for a little as we took in the sights of Downtown Manhattan. I recommend the drink, “Mona Lisa,” which tasted like a loaded mimosa.

I can finally say I’ve checked riding in a helicopter over New York City off my bucket list. But wait, it gets better… A helicopter with NO DOORS. I was scrolling through the explore page on Instagram one day and I came across FlyNYON: a one of a kind aerial experience from an open door helicopter. I immediately thought, “We need to do this!” Boy am I glad we did. It was the most thrilling experience of my life, our lives.
