Nights In New York City

As I’ve said before, New York City is one of my favorite places in the world. Give me any excuse to go, and I’m there.

My boyfriend and I had tickets to a late broadway show at Radio City and thought it would be best to stay the night. We stayed at CitizenM New York Times Square and I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. Centrally and conveniently located near most broadway theaters and Times Square (as you can tell by the name), it was a mere 3 minute walk to Radio City!

Upon entering the lobby, I was in awe over the noteworthy, avant-garde design and the worldly theme portrayed throughout. I have never seen a hotel lobby, or any entrance to an establishment of that matter, so elaborately decorated. The self check-in process was super quick and easy and the staff were on hand to assist, if needed. The staff made us feel right at home as they were friendly, accommodating, and professional. After checking in and exploring the lobby, we anxiously proceeded up to the 15th floor to our room. The rooms are compact and minimalist but who ventures into New York City to spend time in their room? Each room has an XL King size bed which is right up against a floor-to-ceiling window view of the city which was inevitably incredible. Not to my surprise, the bed was very comfortable.. Comfortable enough to call it a night early in the city that never sleeps. The entire room, including the curtains, blackout blinds, room temperature, television, mood lighting, and standard lights, was controlled by an iPad in the room! Each room also had free wifi and free movies! Unheard of in NYC, I know. The cleanliness of the room and the amenities provided exceeded my expectations. The amenities had quirky little sayings and expressions on them which I thought was a nice touch, a unique touch. CitizenM wasn’t just a hotel stay, it was an experience.

Upon our return from the broadway show, we headed up to the top floor, which housed a panoramic rooftop bar overlooking a 360 degree view of New York’s skyline. This rooftop bar is exclusive to guests only, so it was nice to wind down after an exciting evening. I recommend ordering the Pear Spritz, it was the perfect mixture of sweet and balanced. After a few drinks and some good laughs, we ordered a pizza pie to ourselves at the 24 hour CanteenM Cafe located in the lobby and headed to bed.

If you’re looking for a hotel that is reasonably priced and has a lot to offer, this is the place for you. I promise you will not be disappointed. CitizenM, thanks for spoiling us!

Tips & Tricks:

  • This hotel only offers King size beds as they only allow two guests per room. You will not find double beds, twin beds, extra cots, or baby beds.
  • If you fall in love with a piece of decor in the lobby, you can purchase it and take it home! (Uhm, WHAT?!)

xo, Carly
